ICS Compute Becomes the First Indonesian AWS Partner to Achieve the AWS Small and Medium Business Competency

With 64 million SMBs driving 61% of Indonesia’s GDP, the country’s largest economic segment now has its first locally validated AWS partner built to serve it.

The AWS SMB Competency recognizes partners with a proven track record of delivering cloud solutions specifically designed for the operational realities, budget constraints, and growth ambitions of small and medium businesses. To earn it, partners must pass rigorous technical validation of their architecture, solutions, and customer case studies.

Closing a Structural Gap in Indonesia’s Cloud Ecosystem

Indonesia’s 64 million small and medium businesses employ 97% of the national workforce and contribute over 61% to the country’s GDP. Digital adoption among this segment is accelerating rapidly, 63% of Indonesian MSMEs now actively use digital tools, and the country’s digital economy is on track to surpass USD 146 billion in value.

Yet despite this momentum, the AWS partner ecosystem in Indonesia has historically been oriented toward enterprise customers. Until now, no locally based AWS Partner had been specifically validated to serve the SMB segment, leaving a gap between the cloud capabilities available and the businesses that need them most.

AWS launched the SMB Competency in January 2024 as its first go-to-market specialization designed explicitly for partners serving SMB customers.
